Youth Employment
TWA implements a comprehensive youth development initiative focused on livelihood improvement, leveraging partnerships with both local and international organizations. The program’s core mission is to promote technological and social innovation by building the capacity of the next generation.
Our investment is channeled into two key areas:
- Capacity Development: We deliver specialized skill-training programs in various business sectors, such a;
- manual drilling technologies for irrigation,
- dairy milk processing,
- hairdressing, and
- poultry production.
- Entrepreneurial Support: We strengthen youth by facilitating the formation of self-help groups, enabling them to run income-generation activities collectively.
Furthermore, we provide essential post-training support by facilitating market linkages and improving their access to financial services.
- A Fundamental Shift in Mindset: To foster a change in attitude, cultivate a proactive, innovative, and opportunity-driven approach to business.
- Bridging the Competency Gap: To directly address and fulfill identified skill gaps, equipping participants with practical, applicable knowledge.
- Sustainable Capacity Building: To strengthen core competencies in entrepreneurship and essential business skills, ensuring long-term growth and resilience.
Key Progress Update:
- Partner Priorities: In collaboration with German expert Dr. Rudolf, TWA has identified top partner needs. A SWOT analysis is complete.
- Steering Committee: A newly formed committee is now working to assign responsibilities and secure commitments from companies, hotels, and local government.

TWA’s Holistic Approach to Youth Employment
At TWA, we believe sustainable change comes from empowering entire communities. Through our Youth Employment and Job Creation program, we don’t just train young people; we build ecosystems of success.
In partnership with local and international actors, we identified high-potential sectors and began building capacity from the ground up. We provided hands-on training in practical fields like manual drilling for irrigation, dairy processing, hairdressing, and poultry production.
But the training was just the beginning. We organized these newly skilled youths into self-help groups, transforming individual learners into cohesive business teams. To ensure their long-term success, we provided the critical links they needed: market access and financial services.
Result
We are witnessing a powerful wave of micro-enterprises. A group of hairdressers now operates a thriving salon, a cooperative of farmers uses new irrigation techniques to boost yields, and young dairy processors are supplying local markets with quality products. TWA’s program has proven that with the right skills, peer support, and market connections, youth can become the driving force of local economic growth.
