The MaYEA Program continues to invest in learning, collaboration, and strategic partnerships to expand youth employment opportunities across Ethiopia.

From 7–8 July 2026, the MaYEA team—comprising staff from The Well in Action (TWA), PHE-EC, and woreda-level project officers—participated in a two-day refresher training at Harmony Hotel in Addis Ababa. The sessions followed a recent review and realignment of the MaYEA Program, informed by recommendations from the Foundation’s Impact Partner review conducted in late 2025.

Key Highlights & Strategic Focus

The training was facilitated by the technical leadership team from the North and Northwest Sub-National Hub, including the MEAL Lead, Enterprise Development Lead, Gender Youth Engagement and Safeguarding (GYES) Lead, and Communication Lead.

Key areas of focus included:

• Alignment on revised program priorities, expected results, and operational strategies.
• Practical application of youth engagement and enterprise development frameworks.
• Integration of the Center for Exponential Change (C4EC) approach to accelerate delivery.
• Hands-on group exercises focused on collective problem-solving and knowledge sharing.

Driving Sustainable Youth Empowerment

The interactive sessions provided a clear pathway for translating updated program guidelines into practical field operations. By fostering stronger partner coordination and adopting innovative frameworks, the MaYEA team and its partners remain dedicated to creating sustainable livelihoods and advancing inclusive economic growth through apiculture and youth-led enterprise development.
